To our Dear Patient Family,

COVID-19 has been a life-altering pandemic affecting the daily lives of almost every person in the world.  As we approach our return from quarantine, it is important to stress our commitment to your safety.  Since 1931, our practice has served the New Holland community and surrounding areas to provide safe and quality dental work.  Now more than ever, our commitment to your health and safety is our top priority.  We have taken aggressive measures to keep our staff and patients safe while still delivering the highest quality care.

On Monday, May 18th, we began a week of preparation and staff training to plan for our return to dentistry.  While we will begin at a very limited capacity, we will reopen for dental care on Tuesday, May 26th while following enhanced protocols, which follow CDC, OSHA, ADA, AGD, and PA Department of Health guidelines.

Before the virus, our previous sterilization protocols were already industry-leading.  Here is what we are doing in addition to these protocols to protect you:

  • We have installed top-rated, medical grade H13 HEPA air filtration units in every operatory

  • We have added a UV-C light “Air Scrubber” into our existing HVAC system to help eliminate any bacteria, mold, virus, or pathogens passing through the air unit

  • We have the highest level of PPE available including KN95 masks, eye protection, face shields, and disposable gowns

  • We have implemented screening and social distancing measures to keep waiting rooms clear to minimize contact among patients and staff

  • We have increased time between patients

  • Doctors and team members will be checking their temperatures and oxygen saturation levels with a pulse oximeter twice a day

SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES

We are following the social distancing measures recommended by the CDC to decrease the transmission of viruses between individuals. We have new protocols for patients entering our office.

We are conducting extensive pre-screening of all individuals entering the office, including our team, to decrease the risk of spreading COVID-19 as provided in the ADA “toolkit.”

  • Patients will wait in their cars, and call on arrival to minimize the number of people in the office and allow for an empty waiting area

    • Please confirm your appointment time before entering the office. If we are running behind, we'll let you know to avoid any contact with another patient. There will be a learning curve associated with all of these extra measures, and we hope you'll have patience with this new process

  • Anyone who enters the office will have their temperature taken and wear a mask in the any patient waiting area

  • Plexiglass barriers (“sneeze guards”) have been installed in the reception area

DURING YOUR VISIT

  • Our staff will utilize additional personal protective equipment to protect against cross contamination between our team, our patients, and anyone who enters the office

  • We will work to limit or reduce aerosol production.  This includes your dental cleaning.  At this time, we will not be utilizing any ultrasonic cleaning instruments

  • Additional measures will include an oral rinse with 1% Hydrogen Peroxide and/or a 26% alcohol mouth rinse

Our goal is to make our office as safe as possible for you and our staff.  If we can do anything to make you feel more comfortable during your visit, please let us know immediately.  We thank you for your continued support and friendship as we adapt to these new standards.  If you have any questions or would like to speak to one of the doctors, don't hesitate to contact us at (717) 354-6471!

All the best,

Dr. Andy Sieger D.M.D
