Practice History
Welcome to our award-winning practice! Since 1931, we have been privileged to provide family dentistry to patients in New Holland, PA and in the surrounding Lancaster County region. Our practice has been blessed to have had 4 compassionate, caring owners who prioritize service to the community alongside high quality dentistry. Dr. Andy Sieger joined this historic practice in 2015, and took over ownership of the practice in 2017. Before Dr. Sieger, Dr. John Backof succeeded two previous generations of dentists, Drs. Stauffer and Poole. The practice continues to maintain the dental health of several of our patients who started with us in 1931! A true testament to preventative care! In January 2008 Dr. Melissa Della Croce joined Dr. Backof as a 4th generation dentist in a 4th generation dental practice. Dr. Della Croce continues to practice with Dr. Andy Sieger providing excellent dental care to our patients!
Practice Philosophy
"The philosophy of our practice is simple: Treat patients exactly how you would like to be treated yourself," explains Dr. Sieger. "We place high importance on involving our patients in any decision-making involving their treatment. We strive to do what is in the patients' best interests, being sensitive to their particular concerns. We educate our patients as well, as we encourage them to be well-informed decision-makers. We strive every day to earn our patient's trust and confidence within our practice. This shows in the relationship's we have made with some of our patient's, as we 3 or even 4, generations of families who continue to put their trust in our practice."

OUR SERVICES
Dental Hygiene
While most patient's need routine cleanings from our wonderful hygiene department, we also perform deep cleanings (scaling and root planing) for those patient's who have been diagnosed with periodontal disease
Dental Fillings and Bonding
Our practice routinely performs dental bonding and composite filling procedures due to dental decay or for cosmetic reasons
Crown and Bridge
While most decay can be repaired by a composite filling, we use extremely high quality dental labs all based in the United States to help strengthen a tooth or to enhance aesthetics of a smile
Implants
Tooth replacement with a dental implant can be life changing for many people for many reasons. To learn more about this procedure, please call our office!
Root Canal Therapy
When the nerve of a tooth is starting to become necrotic or is infected, many times the tooth can still be saved by a root canal. We perform this therapy at our office to help you save and maintain your original teeth!
Extractions

If a tooth is unrestorable due to decay, periodontal disease, or a crack in the tooth, we perform extractions at our practice to help you gain a healthy oral environment
Dentures
If you are missing teeth or would like a consult for a new denture (false teeth), please contact our office as we are able to fabricate a high quality denture!
Emergency Dentistry

While routine care is the best way to prevent an emergency dental visit, we provide emergency dental care if you ever need help. Please contact our office and we will see you in a very timely manner

Dentists

John Backof, DDS Emeritus
Dr. Backof was the owner of the practice from 1987-2017. He succeeded Dr. Rodney Stauffer. Dr. Backof retired after 32 years as owner of the practice!

Dr. Backof graduated with a degree in Engineering from West Point in 1975 and served in the Army as a Nuclear Weapons Employment Officer. In 1982, he graduated from the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University. He completed his General Practice Residency at Fort Sill, Oklahoma as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, and is a retired lieutenant colonel in the reserves. He is a past president of the Lancaster County Dental Society. Dr. Backof led our practice for over 30 years and watched it grow exponentially; and he has remained very active in the community. He values the relationships he has with the staff and patients.

Dr. Backof is married to his wife Deborah and has two children: his son Bradley who is married with two children and lives in Virginia and a daughter Stephanie, who is married with eight children and lives in Florida. When not at work, Dr. Backof likes golfing and traveling. He especially enjoys visiting his children and grandchildren.
Andrew D. Sieger, DMD
Dr. Sieger joined the practice in 2015. Dr. Sieger grew up in Lititz, Pennsylvania, and graduated magna cum laude from both Penn State in 2010, and Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry. He was class president at Temple Dental School. He completed his General Practice Residency with the VA Northern California Healthcare System. Dr. Sieger knew he wanted to return to Lancaster County to practice dentistry and feels incredibly lucky to have found a dental home in New Holland.

Dr. Sieger appreciates the incredible staff at Sieger Family Dentistry, that cares deeply for all of our patients. He is dedicated to providing great leadership for the practice to keep the practice a top dental practice in Lancaster County. Of utmost importance to him is giving our patients a first-class experience as well as developing a close, trusting relationship with his patients. He continues to pursue some of the top continuing education courses throughout the country.

Dr. Sieger is married to his wife Anj, and they live in Lancaster City. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Melissa B. Della Croce, DMD
Dr. Melissa Della Croce joined the practice in 2008. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She completed her dental education in 2006 at Temple University School of Dentistry, where she earned a Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree.
Dr. Della Croce is a fourth-generation dentist, and proud to follow in the footsteps of the previous generations that graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry before her. Dr. Della Croce maintains membership in the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Lititz Ambucs, and National Association of Professional Women. She is passionate about continuing education, and is an active member of PEAK.

She is one of a small percentage of dentists who have achieved their fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Lorie
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Lorie has served in our office since 1994. She graduated as an EFDA from Harcum College in 2009. At Sieger Family Dentistry, Lorie excels in creating a relaxed and comfortable environment for our patients and providing them with a positive dental experience. She brings her enthusiasm and upbeat attitude to work with her each day, as well a wealth of experience and a desire to restore our patients’ smiles and relieve their pain.

Lorie is married with two children and away from the office she looks forward to spending time with friends and family, traveling, going to the beach and gardening.
Sherry
Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Sherry has been a part of Sieger Family Dentistry for 15 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Messiah College and received her EFDA training at Harcum College. Sherry enjoys the fantastic team of dental professionals, and the wonderful patients from our unique community. Sherry uses her attention to give our patients a great dental experience.

Sherry is married to her best friend and husband Lee. When she is not taking care of our patients, she enjoys reading, traveling, playing board games with friends, and relaxing with her pet cats.
Brandi
Dental Assistant
Brandi has been a member of our team since 2018 however she has many years of dental experience! Brandi grew up in New Holland and more often than not can make some type of connection through family and friends to our local patients! Brandi and her husband reside in the Welsh Mountain with their 4 children and 1 very special dog!

Dental Hygienist
Leslie has worked at Sieger Family Dentistry since 2012. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Leslie is proud to be a member of a fantastic team of dedicated, caring and experienced professionals.

Leslie and her husband live in New Holland and have two grown children and a wonderful daughter and son-in-law. Away from the office, Leslie enjoys sports, reading, music and relaxing on the beach. But most all, she loves spending time with her family and loved ones. She also wants to dedicate more time to the organizations that have impacted her life
Beth
Registered Dental Hygienist
Beth is a 2001 graduate of Harcum College with an Associate of Science Degree. She has been a Registered Hygienist at Sieger Family Dentistry since 2007. Beth resides in Leola with her husband and three young boys. In her free time, she is usually running someone to a sporting event or a school activity.
Krista
Registered Dental Hygienist
Krista has been a part of our team since 2015. She graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College in 2002 with an Associate of Science degree. Krista loves the caring atmosphere and the integrity of the doctors and staff at Sieger Family Dentistry. She makes creating a great patient experience her number one priority with every person who comes into our office. Krista lives with her husband and two sons, and enjoys motorcycle racing, gardening, going to the beach and raising her backyard chickens!
Anita
Registered Dental Hygienist
Anita has worked in our office since 1989. She graduated from the Delaware Technical Institute in 1979 and received the Outstanding Student Award from the Delaware Dental Association. She loves seeing the generations of families that call Sieger Family Dentistry home. Anita and her husband enjoy motorcycle trips on their Harley, and spending time at the beach, but her biggest priorities are her children and grandchildren.

Office Manager
Dianna was born and raised in Western PA and moved to this area in 2002 when she attended HACC for their nursing assistant program. She joined the team in February 2006. She currently lives in Reamstown with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, Dianna enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, going to the beach, and traveling to Pittsburgh to visit family and friends, and to watch all Pittsburgh sports!
